Rownhams motorway service area, located between junctions 3 and 4 of the M27, comprises two distinct sites connected by a pedestrian walkway. While the westbound side has seen significant modernisation with new cladding and flagship brands, the eastbound side remains smaller and quieter. Despite historical performance issues, the site has seen improved customer satisfaction in recent years and has undergone various facility upgrades, including the installation of high-powered electric vehicle charging hubs and the introduction of new catering units. Future development plans focus on extending the eastbound facility, including a drive-thru lane and improved dining options, to enhance the overall customer experience.
