The site has faced several unique challenges since opening, including managing local visitors during the pandemic, navigating changing planning laws, and maintaining its commitment to providing 24-hour hot food. Designed by Corstorphine + Wright, the facility serves as a contemporary gateway to Leeds, although it has experienced a high turnover of retail and food partners as it attempts to refine its commercial offering for both motorway travellers and the local community.
