Knutsford service station is one of the oldest on the British motorway network and is notable for being Moto's only two-storey facility built across a bridge. The site has an unconventional history, having undergone numerous disjointed extensions and architectural alterations over the decades, including being wrapped in grey cladding that was partially updated with turquoise accents in 2020. Despite its age and limited space, it remains a busy location on the M6, managing unique logistical challenges such as restricted HGV parking arrangements, a shared 'co-signing' agreement with the nearby Lymm Truckstop, and an unusual layout where the Travelodge entrance is situated deep within the amenity building.
