Hamilton services, located on the northbound M74, is notable for its expansive grounds, green spaces, and history of operational challenges since opening in 1975. Initially conceived as a joint project with Bothwell services, the site suffered from early management issues, construction delays, and financial struggles for its original developer, eventually leading to a takeover by Roadchef. Over the decades, the facility has evolved from a basic café-based stop into a modernised service area featuring a hotel, various food outlets, and Scotland's only motorway drive-thru coffee shop, all while maintaining its unique, scenic approach.
