Chieveley services, located at the M4 and A34 interchange, has a varied history including television appearances on Gavin and Stacey and a 1988 BBC Radio 2 broadcast. The site has undergone significant recent updates, including the introduction of a Pret A Manger and a KFC, alongside a new 12-bay electric vehicle charging hub installed in 2024. While the operator is currently using former retail spaces for storage, there are long-term plans to modernise and expand the service area, which originated from various attempts to establish a facility on the A34.
