Fuel prices and forecourt details are obtained from the UK Government Fuel Finder API. We check for updated prices approximately every ten minutes, although this can be affected by demand on the API.
If you see an error in this information - for example, the prices being charged at the service area are different to this data - then you can report it to the Fuel Finder website:
Burton-in-Kendal services is an unusual motorway stop because it is a single-sided facility, a rarity on Britainβs motorways. Opened in 1970 by Mobil under the name Burton West, the site was originally an experimental, low-cost project intended to provide basic facilities on the M6. Over the decades, the site has been expanded and rebranded, notably under Granada ownership, and now features a full range of modern amenities including EV charging. Despite its humble beginnings and early criticism for its lack of imagination, the service area has become a long-standing, albeit small, fixture for motorists travelling north through Lancashire.
